DescriptionIndexes to Archbishops' Registers, 13-18th century, by Andrew Coltee Ducarel (1713-1785), Lambeth Librarian 1757-85.
Ducarel began his work on the Lambeth registers in 1755 with an 'epitomy' of the first register (Archbishop Pecham). The indexes are dated 1756-60. See lower level catalogue entries for a description of each of them.
The indexes are all or mainly fair copies in the hand of George Ozanne, who served as Ducarel's clerk until he went to sea in1761. Ozanne's departure is mentioned in British Library Add MS 37219 f. 185, Ducarel to Morant 22 Aug. 1761.

The indexes tend to refer to place rather than personal names.
