| Description | Selective index of correspondents which pre-dates other finding aids. This may assist in identifying relevant volumes containing letters of particular correspondents, for sections of the Bell papers where no index of correspondents exists (i.e. volumes 1-183, the subject series). However, correlation is required of references with current Library volume numbers. But in the case of the 'German Church Papers', original file numbers (1-59) were retained for the volume order of this section on their transfer to Lambeth Palace Library.
The index does not give folio references, so users will have to search through the relevant sections for the letters required. |
