DescriptionRough record of steps assigned in each suit for the use of officials.

These volumes were probably used by officials and proctors of the court to record the steps assigned by the judge to be taken in each case. The entries consist of very brief accounts of the steps ordered at the last appearance of the proctors in the case and details of the steps assigned to be taken before their next hearing. The entries record what documents are to be issued, what evidence is to be procured, and whether sentences are to be prepared in readiness for the judge's final decision. All this information is to be found in greater detail in the Act Books (A).
