ActivityFounded in 1888 as the Church of England's tribute for Queen Victoria's golden jubilee. Land was acquired in Dean's Yard, near the Palace of Westminster and Westminster Abbey, but only a fraction of the original design was built at this period. The foundation stone of the present Church House was laid in 1937 and the building was formally opened in 1940. Venue of the Church Assembly and General Synod and latterly headquarters of the Archbishops' Council, its Boards and Councils, as well as of the Church of England Pensions Board and the National Society.
