TitleJOHN FELTON
Datec.1450-c.1500
DescriptionJohn Felton, 'Sermones dominicales'.
A collection of fifty-eight sermons by John Felton (d. 1434), Vicar of St. Mary Magdalen, Oxford,1397-1434. His sermon collection was completed in 1431.

Begins (f. 1r): 'Penuria studencium in materia morali ...'.
Ends (f. 165v): '... concordia dulcis. Ad illa gaudia eterna perducat nos ihesus cristus amen. Expliciunt sermones dominicales per annum per vicarium Magd' Oxon' horum collectorem'.
An index, Abraham-Zodiaco, follows in the same hand on ff. 164v-168v: a note at the end, 'Sciendum est quod ... patebunt. amen', explains how it works.
According to the compiler of the index the sermons are numbered 'in dextris cornubus foliorum' and divided into 'distincciones' by letter-numbers, but in this copy sermon-numbers and letter-divisions have been entered only here and there.
Among scribbling on f. 168v is the palindrome 'Anna tenet mappam madidam mappam tenet anna'.
