TitleGeorge Congreve
AdminHistoryGeorge William Congreve b. 13 Sep 1835, son of Capt. Walter William Congreve of the 3rd Dragoons and Anna Selina. Educated at Eton and Exeter College, Oxford, Congreve was ordained a Deacon 1859 and a Priest in 1860 and served as Curate at Warminster 1859-1861, before becoming Vicar of Frankby, Cheshire 1861-1873.

He was received into SSJE as a Novice on the 20 September 1873 and was Professed on 30 December 1875. In May 1893 Fr. Congreve visited South Africa and later the same year journeyed to Ceylon and India before making his return to England in April 1894. Missionary work in South Africa followed in 1899; living and working in and around the Cape Town area until 1904.

Fr. Congreve died on the 18 April 1918.
