AdminHistoryRobert Lay Page, b. 10 Aug 1839, Drinkstone, Suffolk, educated at St. John's College, Oxford, gaining a BA in 1861 and a MA in 1864. He was ordained a Deacon in 1862 and Priest in the following year. In 1864 Page took up a position of Curate at Leeds before moving on to Coatham, where he became the Parish Vicar.

Joining SSJE as a Novice in 1870, he was professed in 1872 and almost immediately was sent to India, and, along with Fr. Biscoe, became the first SSJE Father to carry out missionary work in that country.

In 1890 Fr. Page was appointed Father Superior of SSJE, succeeding founder Fr. Benson, a position he held until 1907.
