Date15 Sep 1884-2012
DescriptionSigned minutes taken from the General Chapter Meetings, Special Meetings and Triennial Meetings. Initially the meetings, which often lasted several days, generally took place at the Mother House, Cowley St. John, Oxford, whilst more recently they took place at St. Edwards House, Westminster. Those present on each occasion are recorded (representatives from other provinces of the Society were generally present).

Opening with the reading of the minutes of previous meetings, the General and Triennial Meetings generally continued with a speech made by Father Superior, followed with discussion of general matters affecting any of the Provincial Chapters of the Society. Particular reference is made to any proposed or actual changes to the Statutes and Rule of Law by which the Society and its members were governed. The contents of letters sent by Fathers from the missions in India and South Africa were often summarised during Father Superior's speech and are thus included in the minutes. Later volumes carry reports from Committees, such as Finance and Liturgical, which were presented to the Fathers present at the meeting. Special Meetings were often called for pressing matters, including the Profession of Fathers or affairs relating to the properties owned by the Society.

An index is available 1884-1906 and 1905-1912 minute books and a conspectus for the 1884-1906 minute book.
