Description'The forme and maner of makyng and consecratyng of Archebishoppes, Bishoppes, Priestes, and Deacons' [London: Richard Grafton], 1549 [i.e. 1550]. STC 16462.5.
Printed, with marginal notes in manuscript recording divergences in the edition of 1552. The notes are in the hand of Edmund Gibson (1669-1748), Lambeth Librarian and afterwards Bishop of London.
The Ordinal was drawn up by order in Council, 31 January 1550. Text and publication were overseen by Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury.

CustodialHistoryRemains of a Cambridge University Library shelf label on lower front edge of rear board.
Later Lambeth shelf marks 4 K 15 and 30.3.16 on front pastedown and end papers, indicating that this was shelved amongst printed books in the 17th century.
Removed from the Lower Library [where printed books were kept] by order of the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1741, and recorded as MS. 865 in an addition to David Wilkins' catalogue of the Lambeth manuscripts (LR/F/40).
