The drawing is the original from which Loggan produced an engraving of Sancroft on which are the words 'D. Loggan ad vivum delin. et sculpt. 1680'.
PhysicalDescriptionIn a blackwood oval frame measuring 180 x 153 mm., glazed.
RelatedMaterialOn the reverse of the frame is a note on the identification of the drawing as Loggan by Sir Sidney Colvin, Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum, in a letter dated 28 June 1906. The identification had also been made by Sir Lionel Cust, Director of the National Portrait Gallery, in a letter to the Archbishop of Canterbury dated 13 Feb. 1906 (MS. 3347, ff. 64-65).
