Manuscript of the work published with this title in September 1701. The text has been attributed to the joint authorship of Henry Aldrich (1648-1710), Dean of Christ Church, Oxford and George Hooper (1640-1727), afterwards Bishop of Bath and Wells. The manuscript appears to be a final draft, containing deleted passages which do not appear in the printed edition, and (at f. 65v) a marginal note to the printer.
CustodialHistoryAcquired by Sir Thomas Phillipps c. 1864-67 (Phillipps MS. 18482), and bound in a standard Middle Hill binding. Initials at f. 84v of Thomas Fitzroy Fenwick, 1894. Lot 196 in a subsequent Phillipps sale. Presented to the Lower House of Convocation by Revd. Cecil Deedes in 1905.
