AdminHistoryIsaac Williams (1802-1865) was the third son of Isaac Lloyd Williams and Anne (née Davies). Educated at Harrow College from 1817; matriculated Trinity College Oxford 1821. BA 1826, MA 1831, BD 1839. Ordained deacon 1829 by the Bishop of Gloucester as curate of Windrush-cum-Sherbourne, Gloucestershire. Ordained priest 1831; Fellow of Trinity 1831 until 1842 during which time he was dean and vice-president.
Held curacies under John Henry Newman at St Mary's Oxford and at Littlemore; 1848 moved and assisted with clerical duties at Stinchcombe, Gloucestershire.
Published works include contributions to the British Magazine (1833-1837), Tracts for the Times (nos. 80, 86, 87), poetry, Devotional Commentary on the Gospel Narrative (8 vols., 1869-70), and many sermons and hymns.
Married Caroline (née Champernowne), June 1842; 6 sons and 1 daughter.
