Description(a) copy of the will of John Secker, of Coventry, mercer, the Archbishop's brother, proved 22 March 1763. Also a typed copy (ff. 26-31);
(b) extract from the will of Archbishop Secker, dated 2 April 1768, and legal opinion of J. [John] Sherwin about a bequest for improving small livings, 17 August 1773. Also a typed copy (ff. 32-7);
(c) receipt by Archbishop Cornwallis for £2,600 received from Dr. Daniel Burton, an executor of Secker, for dilapidations at Croydon and Lambeth, 29 March 1769 (f. 38);
(d) terms for a marriage settlement on the marriage of [Francis] Gawthern, [of Nottingham], and [Abigail Anna] Frost [great-niece of Archbishop Secker], 18th cent. (ff. 39-40v);
(e) letter from Thomas Cotes, of Nottingham, to---, 23 April 1763, mentioning domestic news (f. 41);
(f) letter [from Thomas Frost] to his daughters, 31 October 1776, mentioning a shooting party at Granby, Notts, (f. 43);
(g) letter from Chambre William Abson, of St. John's College, Cambridge, to Francis Gawthern, 14 October [1771], on a projected visit to Nottingham and Cambridge news (f. 45);
(h) letter [from John Charles Gawthern, Vicar of Edstone, Yorks., to William Foxley Norris], Dean of York, 1917, presenting to the Chapter of York a cope belonging to Secker. Also a family tree showing his descent from Secker, (copy) (f. 47-8).
