DescriptionItems 1-14: Portrait photographs of Archbishop Lang, including two (items 1 and 2) as Archbishop of York. Some are postcards.
Items 15-28: Photographs of Lang's enthronement as Archbishop of Canterbury on 4th December 1928. Two photographs (items 15 and 16) include George Bell, the then Dean of Canterbury.
Items 29-36: Photographs of various events attended by Archbishop Lang between 1933 and 1937. Includes the Convocation of Canterbury Meeting at Church House (items 29-30), The Spring Session of the Church Assembly (items 31-32), the dedication of a memorial to the late Emily Watney (item 33), the consecration of the Ven. Douglas Henry Crick as Bishop Suffragan of Stafford at St. Paul's Cathedral (item 34), the laying of the foundation stones of the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Kent (item 35) and the unveiling of the Windsor Memorial to King George V (item 36).
Item 37: Photograph of Lang in robes being assisted by two boys.
Item 38: Photograph of Lang in ceremonial dress.
Item 39: Photograph of Lang at tea.
Item 40: Photograph of a Greek Orthodox Priest.
AcquisitionPresented anonymously, 2002. Part of the papers of Albert John Clements, who served four Archbishops of Canterbury in a secretarial capacity between 1903 and 1953. Acquired with MS 4876 ff. 68-98 and MS 4877 ff. 1-23, and further photographs added to the Davidson papers (Davidson 805).
