DescriptionCatalogue of the printed books of Lambeth Palace library as re-established under Gilbert Sheldon, Archbishop of Canterbury 1663-77. In the hand of the Lambeth Librarian, Herbert Richards (c.1643-1678).
This volume records the books on two sides of the Library, beginning on the East side, in one sequence by authors A-Z. The other two sides of the Library are recorded in LR/F/13, in another sequence by authors A-Z.
LR/F/12-13 record the books in a rough, rather than strict, alphabetical order (ie. all authors beginning with a single letter of the alphabet are together, but not in alphabetical order within that letter). These volumes are drafts towards Richards' subsequent catalogue in strict alphabetical order (LR/F/8-9). LR/F/12 is preparatory to LR/F/8.

ff. 1-7. These leaves (flyleaf and part of authors letter A) are misbound here and should be the opening section of LR/F/13.
ff. 2-219. Catalogue by authors, A-Z.
ff. 220-232. This section (authors B-C) appears be an 'overflow' of text, and should follow on from f. 36.
