DescriptionCorrespondence on the Marriage (Enabling) Bill tabled in the House of Lords by Barbara Wootton, Lady Wootton of Abinger, which sought to remove prohibitions on the marriage of persons who are related by affinity (i.e. by marriage). Ellison moved for amendments to restrict the provisions of the Bill, and made a speech (included in the file) at the second reading, 13 February 1979.
