Description | (Described as 22A). Copy of an indenture of grant between King Henry VIII and Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop, and the Prior and Convent of Christ Church, Canterbury. They grant to the King the manors of Otford, Wrotham, Bexley, Northfleet, Maidstone and Knole and lands called Sargeants in Otford, Sevenoaks, Shoreham, Chevening, Panters and Britayns and the advowsons of Shoreham (Otford chapel annexed), Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Northfleet, Arundel and Maidstone, chantries in Maidstone, the Hersyngmershe and Bysshopsmershe in Cliffe, the prison house in Maidstone; total clear yearly value estimated at £503.14s. 5d. Cliffe. Copy made 24 April 1626. |
