Description | Correspondence with and concerning Pastor Jekabs Augusts Gailis.
Includes correspondence concerning Gailis' use of St Paul's Church Onslow Square, with letters from Rev Herbert Waddams, Henry Montgomery Campbell - Bishop of London, Rev John Satterthwaite and an announcement by Professor Dr T. Grunbergs - the Archbishop of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church stating that Gailis had lost the ight to preach to congregations of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17 Mar-22 Apr 1958; Rev Michael Halliwell's correspondence with the Bishop of Kensington, Bishop of Oxford and Canon M. Jenkins noting that they could not allow Gailis use of an Anglican church, with a letter from Jenkins to Gailis, 18 May 1960-10 Apr 1961; letters to Jenkins from Gailis and Satterthwaite, and a letter from Ringolds Muziks to Satterthwaite noting that the London Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church had been recognised as a member congregation of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church and therefore Gailis has been reconciled with his church and so could be allowed to preach in Anglican churches, 9 Mar-8 Apr 1965; correspondence between Satterthwaite, Gailis and Mullet, Booker & Company estate agents concerning Gailis' offer for the leasehold of 20 Connaught Square, 6-13 Oct 1965.
