AdminHistoryBishop Bell was convener of the committee, 1936-8. Other members of the committee included Cyril Forster Garbett, bishop of Winchester, and (1942) archbishop of York, Mervyn George Haigh, bishop of Coventry, and (1942), bishop of Winchester), Canon Edgar William James, Bertram Pollock, bishop of Norwich, and Canon Norman Powell Williams. The committee liaised with its counterpart in the Convocation of York, and met in joint conference. Both committees presented reports on synodical declaration.
