TitleHomosexuality Working Party 1968
AdminHistoryAs a result of a decision by the Board at its meeting in September 1967, a Working Party was set up 'to review the situation concerning both male and female homosexuality and to report to the Board. Subsequently the Board would present its report privately to the Archbishop of Canterbury and the report would only be published if the Archbishop so directed'. The Chairman was recruited by the Board Chairman, and the remaining members were invited because of their varied and considerable experience of the people whose problems we were to discuss.

The members of the Party were as follows:

- The Rt. Rev. Lord Bishop of Lichfiled as Chairman
- Commander (Mrs) S.C. Becke, Chief Woman Officer, Metropolitan Police
- The Rev. P.E. Coleman LL.B, Chaplain, Bristol University
- Dr. J. Dominian, Consultant Psychiatrist, Central Middlesex Hospital
- Dr. Erica Jones, GP
- Mr. Arthur Townsend, Retd. Commander Metropolitan Police

The first meeting of the Party took place on 13 February 1968. The final Report of the Party remianed unpublished.
