AdminHistoryThis division of the BCC was created in 1974 and had three major focuses: economic; multi-racial community; what education is suited for in an open society. Originally only the Community and Race Relations Unit (CRRU) came under the division, then in 1976 the Community work resource unit (CWRU) was added, followed by the Opportunities for volunteering unit (OFVU) in 1982. Also in the 1980s DCA was involved with the Church Computer Project (CCP). Also during the early years of the division, it dealt with the work of the education and social responsibility departments, these respective departmental secretaries' posts merging with that of the DCA secretary's from 1978.
