AdminHistoryBritain Today and Tomorrow (BTT) was a major BCC project. It began life in 1975 as an Autumn Assembly debate on "Christian Hope for our time" Nine themes were indentified as requiring the Council's attention over the next 2 years. These included: Britain in a World Setting; World Justice and British Economic Priorities; Power and Powerlessness; Law, Order, Freedom and Human Rights; Employment and Unemployment; Creating Community; Education and Society; Violence, Non-Violence and Social Change; Culture, Morality and Styles of Life; Leadership and Authority. A progress report was made to the BCC Spring 1976 Assembly. This agreed that the 1977 Autumn Assembly should receive 11 reports on different aspects of British Society. On the basis of these reports Trevor Beeson's book "Britain Today and Tomorrow" was published in 1978. This was an analysis of the main problems of today and it also suggested possible ways forward for tomorrow.
