The executors of the will of William Wake, Archbishop of Canterbury, were Martin Folkes (1690-1754), natural philosopher and antiquary, a nephew of Wake; Samuel Lisle (1683-1749), afterwards Bishop of Norwich; and Richard Chicheley (d. 17 July 1738), Wake's Receiver-General and Secretary.
