'Eveling' is identifiable as the virtuoso John Evelyn (1620-1706) whose diary and letters refer to his cousin George Tuke and to a visit to his estate in Essex. Cf. Essex Record Office D/DHf F3. Exemplification of Chancery decree in suit between William Prettyman and John Evelyn, executors of George Tuke, esquire, and the executors of Sir Samuel Tuke and others, including Matthew Skipp, revoking an order that Skipp should receive rents from George Tuke's property in Essex, and ordering that in future they be paid into court. 1683.
f. 181r. 21 November 1667. Plaintiff is recorded here erroneously as William Sandford, Dean of St. Paul's.
